         Currently teaches at 7 different schools

Dear Band Parent,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as your child’s band director and let you know what is expected of your child to endure a successful band experience. My name I Andrew Szymanski and I am the Director of Bands for the schools in Lombard, Villa Park, Elmhurst, Addison, Bensenville and Wooddale.

You, the parent play a vital role in the success if your young musician. Encouragement, support and a positive attitude towards tour child’s musical efforts are extremely important. Practice on a regular basis will ensure four child’s success. I recommend a minimum of 80 minutes per week over a span of no less than five days. This commitment insures the best results for the student as well as the overall group.

Please review the handbook that was given out previously.

Band may be an extra, but it is an opportunity to give children those experiences in life that are really important, such as self expression, teamwork, heightened self esteem, responsibility and a sense of accomplishment. I hope that this information helps you to understand your band program and helps to make it an enjoyable experience for you and your child.
